dlaboy 's review for:
Pastoralia
by George Saunders
I generally liked this collection of satirical stories, ranging from the bizarre to the pitiful, that highlight how ridiculous ordinary life can be and also how to redeem the mundane. I found Saunders’ style/voice more interesting than the stories themselves mostly, except for “Pastoralia” and “Sea Oak”. The image of a foul mouthed zombie aunt pimping you out to her friends while she actively decomposes in front of you is now forever seared into my mind.
