Wow, just wow. As a plus sized person, and someone who has been around geeky things (and the accompanying lore) most of my life, reading Spoiler Alert seemed like a no brainer. I was a little skeptical, given the mixed reviews, but this book felt like it was written for someone like me.
Marcus is the lovable guy every geeky girl wants - handsome, kind, knowledgeable, and humble. April felt like a version of every bad ass geeky woman I know - beautiful, incredibly bright, passionate, and at times, a little insecure. While both characters have baggage, they support one another in ways they don’t necessarily understand at the time. It’s truly a beautiful relationship Dade created.
Something I’ve seen in reviews is the mentions of DMs between characters as well as sections of fan fic. This didn’t bother me and in fact, I think it added to the story. It was cool to see the references made from Marcus’ journey as an actor as well as how far the relationship between Marcus and April had come.
