I didn't really know what to expect going into this book. I feel like I say that for most of the reviews I've done (I checked- I haven't, not really, haha), but I've been trying my hardest to go into a book with a very vague understanding of the plot. That way I won't go into the novel under the influence of others (have I mentioned I hate hype? because if I haven't-- I HATE HYPE).

Alas, it became evident from the beginning that it was like almost every other romance novel I read. Not a bad thing, but certainly not a good thing. Especially not when, for almost the entire novel, I was comparing it to other things I'd read.

The concept wasn't very original, certainly not its execution, the characters were bland, the development wasn't consistent and, I don't know why, but I got the sense that everything was just 'too staged'. It felt like all the events were just... what's the word?-- predictable? Yes. I think that's the word I'm looking for.

Predictable. If I had to describe this book in one word, I would describe it as horribly predictable. I wasn't disappointed, because I had no expectations, I guess I was just surprised. Surprised that it was most definitely something I had read before, just from a different author.

Now, ALL this being said, I AM INTERESTED IN READING THE SEQUEL. I'm just a walking mass of contradictions, right? I say I didn't really feel anything for it, yet I look forward to seeing where it will end. How it will end, more specifically.

Yes, I'm interested in its end. I look forward to it, if I'm being honest. Who wouldn't?
