I loved this beyond — truly unlike any other book I’ve ever read. I fell so in love with Margo, and the other complicated, peculiar, wonderful characters who populate this book. The narration, alternatingly first- and third-person, is so unusual, and the voice so luminous and transcendent and clear — I don’t know what I thought I was getting into, starting this one, but I couldn’t possibly have imagined the world and voice of this book, the way it lodged itself in my heart and surprised me at every turn. So much magnificent comedy, growth, tenderness, beauty, and complexity. The audio narration was gorgeous (though I will for sure buy a physical copy of this one, too, so I can hold it). Truly, it was a pure joy. Can’t wait to read more of Rufi Thorpe. ❤️
