Honestly I hated this. I had such high hopes and had been following since announcement but...god.
The voice used is very tumblr-esque. It's whiney and teenager-y in the most frustrating ways that don't say much other than how tortured and not like other girls the characters are. Alice in particular is just awful. I'm Scottish so all of the cheesy references to 'home' by her made me cringe. Schwabb lives in Edinburgh so I'm not sure how she was able to include these and not realise how truly grim they were.
I did enjoy (second) Sabine's story for a bit, but not enough to keep reading.
Other than the voice I was fed up of having every single male character that appeared be some kind of wild predator. I fully agree that this does happen, that men can and do act in these was towards women, but to have every single male go from zero to 100 in a paragraph was tiresome. The "teenagers body" section with Alice was just really grim, and while it may be scwabbs belief that all men want a teenagers body I found such a sweeping, creepy as fuck statement after all I had read to be the final straw.
