I loved Gene and mostly finished this because of him. A little too much baseball and then suddenly at the end, not enough baseball?

The time jump at the end shocked me. I expected to read about the results of the playoffs and it was a major let down to be lead to that point of anticipation and then.... time skip.

 

I'm still mad about

how Vince took out his frustration about his career on Gene. I liked their friendship and it just seemed like a way to give Gene more time with Luis while not having anything to do with his best friend. Also, the way Baker treated Gene towards the end, basically sending him into a self doubt spiral???

These issues were not resolved well enough on page for me, and I felt like they were forgiven too easily for how much impact these events had on Gene.
