This is probably the first book I've read that's M/M, and no, I'm not including my mangas or manhwas. I've kept them in separate categories. 😼

There isn't much that I would say about this book. I had a few stages of grief. I was annoyed, disgusted, gutted, confused, stressed out, and finally crying at the end. Nikolai was so unhinged that it cringed me out sometimes, and I guessed it wasn't entirely the worst I've witnessed. He fits in the Heathens' image, after all. Nikolai is another character that feels too fiercely, while Bran tends to be the opposite and tries not to be consumed with the black ink that's suffocating him. Both Niko and Bran had their own struggles, which made them take a little longer to actually progress with their relationship. I just wished that we didn't go in circles through the whole middle part of the book and dived deeper into Bran's past because I was certainly not satisfied with his tormenter being ended too quickly. She could've suffered a bit more. Niko was mostly toxic with all the mentioning about exes and past flings. Like, stop. He was sabotaging their relationship on purpose.

I love the relationship they had with their family, and I was glad to see everyone was there to support Bran towards the end of the book. It made me feel warm and giddy, especially with Bran's dad being an absolute papa bear. Overall, it was all recycled, and there isn't much to note. just fine. Would I read another from the series? Most probably would be GoF and GoR, then I'll skip the others.
