God I Feel Modern Tonight: Poems from a Gal about Town by Catherine Cohen
5.0
i love millennial poetry. this book felt like i was like reading a very long diary entry. parts that i liked the best:
“i asked my therapist why should i want to grow
she says i will suffer less
what is she trying to prove”
“and i laughed and felt very bad”
“if it’s embarrassing it’s probably good”
“there must be some fabulous party going on somewhere everyone wearing shawls without me”
“you’re surprised when i tell you i pray but i like the idea of wanting something all the way into space”
“i want to be famous for being the first person who never feels bad again”
