Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Comic Book by Lee C.A., Wendy Xu, Leighton Gray, C. Spike Trotman, Vernon Shaw, Josh Trujillo
4.0
Dream Daddy by Leighton Gray & Vernon Shaw et. al. is a free NetGalley e-comicbook that I read in late April.
Extended backstories of the Maple Bay daddies (and their kids) beyond the scope of the game - they're each so sweet, yet seductive, especially Hugo and Damien! *essited squeak, giddy swoon* On the other hand, there's a slight shift in art and dialogue throughout with my least favorite being the ‘Dream Ad-y’ segment with squinky, Bebe’s Kids-style people shapes and speech bubbles frenetically fighting for space within a cell; similarly, with ‘Fair Deal,’ but with Steven Universe/Gravity Falls people shapes. But then it’s all forgotten with a Daddy D&D session where nearly everyone dons character-appropriate costumes and thematic spells, then finishes with an issue wrap-up with artist & writer commentaries.
