Blech. I wanted to DNF this one early on, but a lot of the reviews said you needed to stick with it through the first half. Sadly, I should’ve gone with my gut, as there was honestly nothing I enjoyed about this book. 😕 Our female MC has created a VERY robust fictional world that she lives in, and this element was cringe AF and waaaay too prevalent throughout the book. 😬 If not for the fact that both leads were going on 30 and inheriting a house, the book felt YA to me…and honestly sometimes even middle grade. You have them passing notes while literally sitting across from one another, multiple scenes where they can’t look each other in the eyes while speaking, and playing games like hide and seek and I spy together. 🤔 I guess some might think this sweet, but it wasn’t for me and definitely not what I’m expecting in an adult romance novel. 🤷🏻‍♀️
