Too Hard to Forget by Tessa Bailey
1.5

this was such a weird mess.  I feel a little bad rating it so poorly, bc tbh I did enjoy it?  but it was so bad the whole way through.  the first half was the least relatable portrayal of characters or a relationship that I’ve ever encountered, including in like, paranormal and romantasy where characters are literally magic or immortal or undead; just toxic dysfunction and weird brooding and torment, from a cheerleader and football coach.  and then it takes such a turn and becomes a totally hokey small town rom com?  so odd, so disjointed.  and as usual for tessa bailey, so much sex - the book and story truly only exist to give you the sex, that’s just how she rolls. and quite frankly, I’m not mad about it.
