Eloise always felt like one of the most relatable characters throughout the earlier books, perhaps down to her more modern sensibilities in her self assuredness, her cunning nature, or steadfastness as a loyal sister, friend, and daughter. The events that she this book off for her are infinitely human as well and the fact that Phillip’s lived experiences also drew from a deep well really aided the believability of their growing connection. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this entry into the series and it has risen to close to the top of the list for me.
