parpacifica 's review for:
The Hooker and the Hermit
by Penny Reid, L.H. Cosway
Rating: 2.5
The banter between the characters was actually quite interesting, and engaging.
But, do you ever know when a book is so incredibly cliché that you momentarily recoil inside? There were so many moments like that here. And a bit of insta-love/ lust.
Our heroine is an vivacious introvert. In the chapters done in her perspective, she appeared so. BUT in the chapters done in Ronan’s perspective she appeared to be a shy, docile, confused person. Which she is. But as their relationship develops, his idea of her doesn’t really progress.
He continues to view her as some docile deer.
Her cussing, narration and sarcasm ARE A COMPLETE CONTRADICTION TO HOW SHE IS VIEWED THROUGH RONAN’s eyes. And it sucks cause she is a really awesome person.
That is all.
