I hadn't planned to read this, but my husband told me I HAD to read the first section, up until the Mercedes arrives. Turns out the reason was that he could not believe the amount of effort that went into crafting that lead in, only to have them, well...you know. I was listening to the audio version by Will Patton. Shifting the POV to Bill Hodges, the character voice Patton used, I just could not tolerate. The initial scene with some God-awful show on the television was so revolting that I knew I would never be able to read this, so I needed to go ahead and review it in case I need to be reminded someday that this is not for me! And yes, I really do like Stephen King!
