I can't believe this is supposed to be one of the (if not the) best Poirot mystery. It dragged, and I found the ending to be a deception. Christie's plot twists are usually a bit stretched, but this one beats them all.

Okay, it's well-built into the narrative. But still, the reader doesn't play with all cards in hand, and that kind of defeats the "clever" mystery purpose. For emotional attachment reasons, I feel very let down. But that's a point in favour of the storytelling, I guess.

Also, I couldn't find a review that mentions the anti-semitic, racist, and ableist comments in this book? I started reading Poirot Investigates and one of the characters used a racial slur literally on the third page.
