Hollywood's Eve: Eve Babitz and the Secret History of L.A. by Lili Anolik
3.0
I really wanted to love this book. I think my issue is that I read Didion and Babitz, before reading this. In both Hollywood's Eve and Didion Babitz, Anolik uses the same facts, the same stories, and the same voice to tell the story of Eve Babitz. It feels like Didion and Babitz is just a copy of Hollywood's Eve with a couple facts about Didion thrown in. It's so disappointing because Anolik has such an incredible writing style. It's fun and quirky, and it keeps the reader engaged. I think I am just struggling to see why she published two almost identical books.
