One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

Okay so 1) this took a while to get into and 2) there were a lot of questionable elements (what in the incest).  BUT it was necessary for the story - the second half was a lot easier to understand bc every character had identifiable and distinct characteristics beyond their names so it became less confusing (literally everyone has the same name lol).  Also the ending - WOW!!!!!  I think up until p160 I was a bit confused on why so many people loved this book but now I totally get it.  It was a big undertaking ngl - so it was good to read when I have no exams etc on - but it was worth the grind
