Kira-Kira

I read this book when it first came out in 2006. I was 11 and I found the story incredibly moving, or at least very emotionally stirring. Re-reading it at age 25, it hits a lot harder. There’s so many complex issues going on in this book...illness, poverty, racism... it’s a lot to take in even as an adult. Either way, I still loved it.
