All the Hidden Monsters
by Amie Jordan
Thank you to Scholastic and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this book! All opinions are my own!
I had such high hopes for this one, but unfortunately, it just didn't meet the mark. I think my main problem was that the romance just seemed so off. The MMC felt incredibly toxic and then we were expected to believe that he suddenly loved the FMC and everything he'd done was okay? It felt like it would have fit better as an adult dark romance, not a YA novel. We literally get him thinking about how young and annoying she is and then bam he loves her?
I also found it incredibly hard to keep up with the mystery. I'm still not really sure at the end why the killer was doing certain things. I wish things had been easier to connect throughout the story instead of being info-dumped at the end.
I wanted to love this book, but here we are.
