Darrow is lowest of the low class on Mars, a Red, his wonderful but hard life is thrown into turmoil when he learns the truth about his status on Mars. In order to help his fellow Reds he must become a Gold and beat them at their own game.
I wanted to love this book MORE. I did love it, but after so many rave reviews I had really high expectations and that probably tainted my read. I was crying 50 pages in, like devastated crying, and then I was like wtf is this...the hunger games?! The similarities were too much, it really took me out of the book and made me kind of mad that it wasn't going to be a very original story plot I just didn't expect it to go in that direction, it wasn't really a bad thing though. I still enjoyed it a lot and I will definitely continue with the series.
