Sophie's World
by Jostein Gaarder
I read this because I wanted to brush up on the history of philosophy in an easily digestible book, and for that, this did the trick. It was a little like an old musical where the songs are written first and then loosely tied together with a story. The story wasn’t bad, but I would not recommend this book for the story alone. There were also some odd choices that I chalk up to its being in translation from Norwegian and being somewhat Norwegian-centric.
