This is an eye opening book that helps inform every other book written about race and caste and has helped me understand where the US came from, how it was shaped and how it has evolved and transformed to where it is today. Comparing alongside India’s caste system and Germany’s Third Reich helped give clear depictions of the different lines used, and how the US created illusions that do not make sense to the outside world, and just how wild it is that we have bought into and subscribe to these systems when you begin to analyze them as outsiders looking in.
