Thoughtful. This isn't so much a story as a slice of life. A young boy goes fishing before dawn with his father to catch the food they'll eat for dinner before he goes to work at his second job. This is a family of immigrants from Viet Nam and it's gently touched upon that the father was in the war, one in which he lost his brother.

Use it as a prompt for writing a "slice of life" piece and just let it sink in for students what this story means.
