I cannot remember the last time I read an entire book in 24 hours. This book was intense: I had a deep sense of foreboding from the very beginning, and I held it until the very last page. The tension here is palpable.
This is a book about motherhood, intergenerational trauma, patriarchy, gas lighting, the bonds or lack thereof between mothers and daughters, and what happens when we lose ourselves in a relationship. It was so effing good. Not an easy book by any means, but I'll be thinking about it for a long time to come.
