I really enjoy Annette Marie's Guild Codex series both the original Spellbound and this newer Demonized spinoff. My only quibble is with the author's use of the word "mince". Her main characters mince here and mince there, and it pulls me out of the story every time. Since I just did a reread of all the books, it was glaringly obvious.
I'm sure she is using it to mean: to walk or move with short, affectedly dainty steps
But I would get pulled out of the story and spend a couple of minutes coming up with alternate words she could have used. I wish Ms Marie would add some variety to her character's movements and maybe leave the mincing for the kitchen.
