Dime Store Magic by Kelley Armstrong

This book is well written and is a wonderful introduction to the rest of the Otherworld away from the werewolves. Here we are introduced to Paige Winterbourne, an idealistic witch who has the hard task of looking after the daughter of a black witch and a sorceror. The only problem is that witches and sorcerors don't mix so when said sorceror sues Paige for custody of his child, madness, mayhem and satanistic rituals ensue.

This was a little funnier than the previous two books. It had moments of levity provided by Savannah (the ward in question) and the romance was downplayed a little as Paige can't see herself as the object of a romance.

I enjoyed this but Elena is still my favourite character and I like that she still has cameos in the later books.
