although I don't quite agree with Wilde's many ideas and opinions (or at least the majority of the theories of Lord Henry), some fragments were so beautifully written that they almost overpowered the utter nonsense being said by the characters in question. 
also, Basil was my favourite character, and he had the sweetest, purest soul of all the characters - he definitely did not deserve to die, and especially not in that way. I despised Dorian for that.
