I loved this introduction to the Luna sisters!!! I think we really get to see their dynamic and growth as sisters in this book. ALSO, I think this is the first time a historical romance has actually taught me some history, which is not something I necessarily *need* but I did find it interesting and it was woven so deftly into the story.

Ana María is such a great main character, and I love her eldest daughter energy. I also loved her growth as she struggled with her family responsibilities vs what she actually wants and also the gender roles of that time.

I really enjoyed this romance, it was a tension filled slow burn and we get a lot of swoony moments. I loved the banter and the conversations that Ana and Gideon have and I really felt their immediate chemistry.

The spice took me out of it a little, because it felt a bit modern-- but it was well-written and satisfying after all the tension!

All the friends/side characters in this book were so great, and after the setup in this book, I am looking forward to getting Isabel's story in Isabel and the Rogue which comes out in June!!
