This was a cute, simple read. My only issues were that this read much, much younger than I expected. I know it’s middle grade, but still. This felt overly simplified and almost goofy at times, especially the ending. Similarly, this wasn’t really horror, it was more murder mystery than anything else. Also, I don’t understand the comparison to Jaws? Other than a few brief mentions and taking place on Martha’s Vineyard, it really had no connection whatsoever. With adjusted expectations I could see people really enjoying this.
Moderate: Death
