Arrochar has been in love with Mac for years. She finally gathers the courage to make her feelings known and it backfires to the point that she vows to avoid him.

Mac has feelings for her that he's been trying to deny for years. First out of respect for her family–one of whom is his best friend turned son-in-law and boss–and now for reasons he can't even fully comprehend yet. He'll have to deal with past demons–in more ways than one–for a chance to have a future with her.

This book had an aspect to it that I rarely see included in a novel. It involves seeing Mac work through his demons and being really vulnerable. I always like Mac, but I have even more compassion for him with the knowledge of what he has been through.

Arrochar is such a sweet and kind-hearted person. She is also human and very hurt which brings out a different side of her, but not out of malice yet deep-seated pain that Mac unknowingly brings out of her.

I was rooting for their HEA. Their story definitely kept me on edge wondering if it could ever be possible.
