I listened to this as an audio book and holy crap. It’s so much better as an audiobook. I’m so glad I used my last audible credit on it! The twists and turns in this book were so spectacular I thought I was listening to a tv show. The narration is one of the best I’ve listened to in a long time and I’m still reeling from the ending.

The story is told in transcript form with numerous players in this game. It starts out with Ezra and Katie; two teenagers who were dating but then Katie decided to dump Ezra. Right at the end of the world and things go to shit. Both are picked up by separate spaceships and set on paths that neither of them expected. Because the deeper Katie digs into what happened that ended up with their planet being obliterated, the more danger she puts herself in.

Combine that with a rogue AI, a virus that causes people to go insane, and a government determined to keep it a secret. The lines of good and evil become blurred to the point where what’s right and wrong no longer matter. Survival is. But survival at what cost?

If you’re a fan of sci-fi and space travel and rogue government agencies this book is for you. The execution of this audiobook is seriously great and the story is top notch. 10/10.
