The Traitor's Mercy
by Iris Foxglove
I can't remember where I got recommended this series from, but I knew it sounded like something right up my alley, and I couldn't wait to start it. This was so, so close to 5 stars for me, and it's definitely a series I could see myself binging. What surprised me was how much I loved the writing style and the language the author uses; it flows well, and it's eloquent. I liked the characters and the world. I'm giving it 4 stars because there are some things I still feel lost on, and some things about the world and magic system I don't understand. It felt hard to follow at certain points. But I enjoyed the romance, the fantasy aspects of it, and the setting otherwise. I could definitely see myself rereading this, once I finish the rest of the series.
