Okay so I had high hopes for this one, the book was fine, and cute at times but the plot was very predictable to me and felt like a drag. I almost DNF this book but kept on going in hopes that it would get better. The lead characters Joshua and Lucy come out as very stereotypical type.
Lucy is supposed to be 28 but acts like a teenager which was very annoying to read and her sudden obsession with muscles? The amount of times she objectifies Josh pisses me off!

The book emphasises the competition of beating the other to the COO position but in the end, Joshua decides to give up on the job for love. Additionally, I found his character creepy and toxic instead of cute.

Moreover, the attempt at banter and humour failed to reach its mark. The book had potential but it wasn’t properly executed.
