let me start by saying this book will absolutely not be for everyone and that is what makes reading so great - it’s subjective. BUT while i did feel like this book was a bit too long and some of the middle could have been edited out i also feel like i wouldn’t change any of it.

I finished this book and sat and just existed for like an hour before i could even acknowledge what i even just read - my biggest advice. HAVE BOOK 2 READY.

this is a YA novel and i didn’t feel like it gave that young much throughout. Both of our MCs were dealing with extremely tall personal battles that most high school students do not have to deal with.

Joey - I adored Joey i would love an entire book from Joey’s point of view. He was such a strong side character in this book and adored every single scene that involved him. I feel like the last 3 pages of the book were the only times we got to see the other 3 brothers but i’m hoping we’ll see more of them in future books.

JOHNNY. While yes Johnny is arrogant and talks about his broken dick and his balls a lot and talks about shannon being small and beautiful a lot i feel like it’s really important to remember these are high school teenagers. A great deal of the boy mind is  in that place during this time of their life. I loved Johnny as a character - he was the hero that Shannon needed in her life and allowed her to finally believe she could trust someone who wasn’t Joey.

I loved the slow burn of this - Shannon and Joey truly cultivated a friendship before they dove in.

i was literally laughing out loud when Johnny was high after surgery it was probably one of my favorite parts of the entire book. 😆

I cannot wait to read book 2. that is all.
