Jennifer L. Armentrout is my favorite author and this is an earlier work by her written originally under a pseudonym. This a contemporary, new adult romance and honestly its not my favorite of JLA's books and the romance in it is just okay.  I read it pretty quickly but I think I've discovered between reading this book as well as some other books in the past is that I'm just not the biggest fan of college settings or books where the main characters are college students.  I enjoy adult romances more than new adult romances and I also still enjoy reading some YA books but for some reason I just feel a disconnect whenever I read books that take place in college.  Perhaps it's just my personal college experience was so different or the fact that a lot of times the characters get broken down into frat boy personas or party girls and that happened a bit with some of the side characters in this book.  The actual romance between Avery and Cam was just okay, I've read better (including romances by the same author).  The book also dealt with some of Avery's past traumas (her assault and suicide attempt) so there are some sensitive topics in the book that may not be okay with every reader.  I do think that some of the dialogue and references seem a bit dated but this book is 10 years old so that's understandable.  I mean overall I would consider this a very middle of the road kind of romance book: it wasn't bad but it also wasn't amazing but I still kind of enjoyed it.
