Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
This series is absolutely written by a young man who liked Lotr!! I actually didn't fully watch Lotr until 2023? So when I read this as a kid I really thought it was absolutely incredible as i hadn't read/seen anything like it. The last book is definitely maybe the best? Unlike the others I never once felt like tearing my eyes out or wondered if I made a bad decision in rereading the series lmao. But on the other side I'm glad I did reread? At the very least to now be able to read murtagh with a good friend. But if you didn't read this as a kid/aren't here for nostalgia then I wouldn't recommend these series. It's p bad lol. Even if younger. it's just so *young boy* in its mannerisms/themes. Like for ex I just constantly felt like the female characters were just there for the male characters to bounce off of. Nasuada maybe being the only exception. I feel like there's gotta be better fantasy out there for the youngins tho. If you are here for nostalgia, it's easy to listen to even if maddening at times, you really don't have to give it a lot of focus to follow. just a warning, eragon is way more annoying then you remember him being 😂
