2 words that I would use to describe this book: perspective and gratitude
We all learned about the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl in school but this books gives such a personal and detailed and deep take that is so much different than simply hearing the facts. I have a new found appreciation for that peace of our history and such respect from the millions of people who lived through that time period. It’s hard to imagine the severity of the situation until it’s laid out for you in a way that digs into your heart.
