You Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti

5.0

You Can Kill is the final book in an explosive and heart-stopping romantic suspense series by Rebecca Zanetti. This whole series, but also this book in particular, is perfect for anyone who enjoys psychological, slasher-type thrillers mixed with some romance. This is a series finale you won't want to miss!

You Can Kill picks up perfectly where the third installment (You Can Die) ends. If you're like me and have been diligently following along for the ride, you know that so much has already happened with FBI Special Agent in Charge Laurel Snow, Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, and the townsfolk of Genesis Valley. This town has been riddled with serial killers, and little do the townsfolk know, it now has another narcissistic psychopath in its midst.

This book had me feeling a full range of emotions, but the most prominent was stunned silence. I never knew which direction Rebecca Zanetti would take next. I was left on the edge of my seat, unsure how she would wrap this up. Two characters in particular (Pastor Zeke Caine, Laurel's estranged father, and Abigail Caine, Laurel's half-sister) have left me particularly worried since the beginning, and I desperately needed to know how Laurel and Huck were going to handle them. Rebecca did a marvelous job with this, by the way! Each key element slowly unraveled, and I can't believe how she made those pieces fit together so well.

This series had everything I love in romantic suspense/romantic thrillers. The one thing I'll mention is the romance is definitely on the slower side as it spans the four books and the overall storyline focuses more on the murder mysteries. But there are still several enjoyable romantic scenes that will appeal to romance readers!

Overall, a fantastic 5-star read and a great ending to the Laurel Snow series! Thank you, Rebecca!
