The Electricity of Every Living Thing
by Katherine May
I picked this up of a sale table in B&N, quite absent mindedly. I was drawn by the fact that I am close enough to the same age as the author and I too feel like I make the best sense of the world when out in nature. I was not expecting to connect to this book so much. She parallels her walking/hiking experience with her self-realization and then later official diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. As an individual who is very sensory avoidant, I found it relatable and helped give me some reassurance that we are indeed normal even if we're not like everyone else.
