This is a wonderful book. Throughout reading I was heartbroken and yet still hopeful for Cilka along the way. There are many parts of this book that makes me mad and I know it's not all true that some parts of the story was made up. However, I have ended the book longing to know about Cilkas actual store. The full truth of it all. She was so young though both books and so strong without ever breaking. I loved so many of the side characters that were silver linings in her life and helped keep her safe in the prison and camps. I loved reading about her ending and how it sounded so happy as well as so happy that Gita and her were reunited again and both got to survive the horrors they went through. There is no way I could not give this book 5 stars. It's already my favorite book I have read this year ans regret not reading it sooner.
