I overall enjoyed A Study in Drowning. While predictable, the story had a charm and was atmospheric. I felt the ending was a bit heavy-handed in pushing the themes. As for the meta- I thought this was the author's debut so was a bit more forgiving, however it very much felt like a self-insert which gave me the ick, so I tried to not let that detract from the storytelling itself. I'd pitch as a great mood read for a rainy autumn day.
