This book is horrible and weird. Penelope Douglas has a lot of books, many which are a bit weird and different, but the scenes usually make up for it. This book is not like her others. This romanticized sexual assault and rape and gave the characters absolutely no drive or explained anything. There wasn’t even a warning in the book that talks about this. Now keep in mind that I have read copious amounts of taboo, romances, with some dubious consent and controlling relationships; but this seemed like it was written from someone who needs more therapy than me. I couldn’t even finish the book because after a fourth of the book, I knew nothing about the characters and
there was just an intense sexual assault scene that was graphic. While we got some of her POV talking about how she liked it, she said no so many times. And everyone just kinda went with it.
I got so much second hand embarrassment and no plot from this book. I would give it zero stars if I could.
