I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell by Tucker Max

1.0

For the life of me, I can't remember how I came across this book, or why I thought it might be something I might enjoy.

I love the title, and I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the content based on the title, but I also shouldn't have been bored by what I read. So bored, in fact, that I abandoned it about a third of the way through. There was nothing in here that was so funny (or even that unusual) that I just had to keep reading to see what Tucker would do next.

I was hoping for something more like David Sedaris, and instead got the misadventures of a self-important, overprivileged frat boy. Tip: if you constantly have to tell people how funny you are, chances are you're not that funny. He reminds me of That Guy (everybody knows one) who thinks he's just SO funny that all the guys want to hang with him and SUCH a player that all the Hot Chicks want to have sex with him, but he's SO good looking and has SUCH a buttload of money that he can get away with it, but everybody really thinks he's just a big jackass.

I don't know, maybe if I was a high school or college guy, I'd think this guy was a legend. Nah, probably not.
