I had high hopes for this one especially since I adored the first book and my gosh did it exceed my expectations!

I started this without a clue what it was going to be about however I was really excited. I was so happy for a sequel to Darius the great is not okay since I really wanted to see what Darius was like after his trip to Iran.

The book goes more in depth about racism, depression and family and handles these topics really well. I enjoyed seeing more sides to Darius' dad and his side of the family since I felt like we didn't see more to him in the first book.

The book also showed the racism that people from a very young age can receive and I was so happy it didn't just wash over it. I feel like racism within classrooms goes ignored many times especially when it's young children. I really believe that people from a young age should be taught about racism and how to treat others with respect and love regardless of race. It is not a subject that should be saved for later in life because "they are too young to learn".

It was heartbreaking to see moment where Darius' sister Laleh was being a target of racism despite being 9 years old. It made me so angry to read and seeing that the teacher did nothing made me even more angry. It's also sad to see that darius had to explain that he was treated like that too.

With every Darius book I read I love him more he's a down to earth and lovable character who is just like many of us whether that's because we feel we don't fit in or it's because we can relate to his depression or something else. I feel like no matter what you cannot not love Darius. I wasn't sure about his boyfriend Landon however I thought he was a great character whether I liked him or not. I also developed a liking to Chip even though there were moment where he really annoyed me I liked seeing more to him. But of course I missed Sohrab I just love him sm.

I highly recommend this book!
