Exposed by Brynne Asher

3.5

I love Brynne Asher, and I love her plots, but this was sold to me as a grumpy/sunshine, and there was barely any grump, and there was def no sunshine. Goldie was just an anxious mess, and yeah she had a lot going on, so I don’t blame her, but I was told over and over again in the pages of this book that she was as sunny as her name, and I saw no proof of that. King has like maybe one grumpy moment, and that was in Tapped, not even his book. Maybe I’ve read too many of these books too close together? But everyone is just like Cole, who was a big mouthed annoying blowhard. Maybe that’s being too harsh on King, he wasn’t a blowhard. His relationship with Trippy was cute, and he was nice to Goldie’s mom. I think this is just the one book in the series I’m not gonna like as much as the others. The writing wasn’t as tight, and the timeline was weird, even in a book where you’re expecting the forced proximity and insta love, it just didn’t work here. Anyway. It’s still worth reading, and I can’t wait for Rocco’s book this fall!!
