A Chanukah Noel by Sharon Jennings

3.0

I was rather bothered by this story. Charlotte is Jewish but wants to celebrate Christmas with all the lights, decorations, and presents. Her parents say no, but then Charlotte learns a classmate, Colette, won't have Christmas because they are poor. Charlotte convinces her father to let them make Christmas for Colette and her family, so that she can also experience the holiday. I felt this book failed to make Chanukah special for Charlotte, and instead privileged Christmas - making it really not a Chanukah book.
