’I was only my rage. And I was happy with my solitary life.
Happy.
Was that happiness?’

Wow. What an absolute roller coaster of emotions I have just been on.

Before I begin this review, I would like to thank R. Moody for letting me be an arc reader for this book. And in true fashion, here is my honest review.

I have instantly fallen in love with Riley. Yes, I know I should be talking about our fiery, badass, main character first but I have to express my love for this cinnamon role mmc. Like come on, he calls her firecat, he falls first…he’s adorable and I love him.

Okay, now to our main character. As I said before, fiery and badass. She is also a notorious assassin filled with feminine rage. Her backstory, and also her present as well, was so emotional and at times difficult to read and I want to give her the biggest hug. Her development over the book was truely interesting and I loved seeing the soft parts of her.

Now for the plot, very travelling focus at the beginning but we get the court politics introduced and more and more storyline unfolding as you go through the book. I will say that I found the start a bit slow but that could have also just been me being in a book slump at the beginning.

I’m going to do a summary under here in case you get sick of my blabbering, so if you like:
  • Romantasy
  • Found Family
  • Hate to love
  • Court politics
  • Female assassin
  • Feminine rage
  • Hidden identity
  • Forced Proximity
  • LGBTQ+ rep
  • Diverse representation
then pick this book up on release day! and thank me later
