When I started this book I was sceptical because the 1st-person narration is usually not my thing, but oh boy was I wrong.

I liked seeing the world of motherhood, waitressing and baseball through Poppy's eyes. I think it made the whole book so much more memorable. I got hooked pretty fast and stopped noticing the narration style after the first few chapters.

Initially, I was a bit disappointed when the secrets between Poppy and TK got revealed and solved quickly. But I think that what made this book so amazing and absorbing was not their messy high school breakup. It was the process of them getting both of their worlds together and solving all the issues that come into their lives in the meantime.
