Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak

5.0

I’m done reading other peoples reviews and recommendations. I feel as though the book community has started completely gate keeping the literary world. If I had avoided this book based on the one star reviews I saw I’d have missed out on a really fantastic read!
I liken this experience to when I finished Grady Hendrix’s The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires and found one star reviews claiming racism and sexism. Whereas now with Hidden Pictures it’s transphobia and pushing of Christian idealism/attack on atheism. Sometimes there isn’t deeper meaning, sometimes we don’t need to find offense.
I won’t drag on and go into details why I completely disagree with those negative reviews. Instead I’ll sum up this review with a quick piece of advice.. if a book peeks your interest give it a go! Other people’s opinions aren’t warranted for you to form your own.
IMO Hidden Pictures was a creepy and different approach to the horror genre. I especially enjoyed the artistic aspect!
