!!! so freaking good. it had such interesting things to say about so many things, including complicated legacies when it comes to authors and ofc women and the way misogyny and sexual abuse follows them. how they deal with it and how not being believed can break us down. "Men just say whatever they want and everyone believes them"

effy is such a great character, even when she thinks she is being weak, she is being so so strong. i do love how even though the things she sees are scary, her belief in them and herself is so strong, and the way she deals with it is so impressive.

preston my beloved. academic men can be so insufferable, but he was not and i loved it. him and effy were do sweet <3

i genuinely think my only complaint is the confrontation with the fairy king felt anticlimactic. it didnt need to be epic or anything, but i feel like the mirror thing wasnt explained super well, besides a few mentions through the book about no mirrors in the house. i liked this book to much to even knock of .25 points for this though

as always my reviews are just word vomit but i loveedddd this book sm. will immediately be reading the sequel
